How it works
- Check your credit report: Checking your credit report can help you spot information that may be inaccurate or incomplete.
- File a dispute for free: If you see information on your Equifax credit report that you believe is inaccurate or incomplete, simply file a dispute, and we’ll look into it right away.
- Results completed within 30 days: Once you’ve submitted a dispute, we’ll investigate and return your results.
- Updates to your credit report: If we do find that information on your credit report needs to be updated, don’t worry. We’ll take care of it.

How to Dispute Credit Report Information

The quickest way to dispute inaccuracies is through Experian’s online platform:
- Visit the Experian Dispute Center.
- Log in or create a free account.
- Review your credit report and identify the items you wish to dispute.
- Follow the prompts to submit your dispute and upload any supporting documents.

2. By Mail
If you prefer to submit your dispute via mail:
- Download and complete the dispute form from Experian.
- Gather copies of supporting documents.
- Mail your dispute and documents to:

3. By Phone
To initiate a dispute over the phone:
- Obtain a copy of your Experian credit report.
- Call Experian’s dispute hotline at 855-414-6048.

- Accounts that don’t belong to you.
